16 Days Of Activism Against Gender-based Violence, 2022
To combat sexual and gender-based violence in the nation, the Salma Attah Foundation for
Women and Girls Support
(SAFWGS) introduced its "Boys as Allies" campaign. No fewer than 500 boys from ten
different schools were sensitized
throughout the campaign, which was a component of its efforts to mark this year's 16
Days of Activism.
The pupils in the chosen schools, which were in Niger State and the FCT, were educated
about the different types of GBV,
the significance of consent, how to report, and the role that boys may play in putting
an end to the epidemic. In
accordance with the 2022 16 Days of Activism's theme, "Unite! Activism to end
violence against women and girls," the
organization decided to launch a mission to fully engage and educate young boys and
girls.
